One
Squirrel
Sits staring
He wants my food
He waits patiently
His gaze is upon me
Expecting me to cave in
Expecting me to surrender
Big brown eyes watching me as I eat
Stealthily creeping, he's within arms reach
How close will he venture before retreat?
He seems comfortable, unafraid
Focused, mind set on stealing food--
Scurry away my little friend
Danger lies in this treat...
Find another meal
Another way
Give up,
Leave.
