Somewhere
Scarred from the scraping of feet
Unprotected, the prey of defeat...
Somewhere, shaking from starvation
Limbs bloated and swollen in pain
Twisted stomach churning, moaning
Cries through the night in vain...
Somewhere, sworn to constant battle
Under the debris of empty shells
Trying to hide the red of blood
Trying to forget the way death smells...
Somewhere, sugar coated dreams
Fill the heads of an innocent child
Looking out on an imperfect world
Striving to make sense of life in this wild.
