What is Echoes of Eve?

Echoes of Eve is a Bible study journal/encyclopedia I started creating in the Fall of 2025[1] to consolidate all the notes I have on what it means to be a woman of God. It contains entries for most[2] women discussed in the Bible.

The Journaling Hour

Starting in October 2025, I launched a Journal with Me series on my YouTube channel where I'm creating this journal in real time and discussing the women and topics. One of the goals of that series is to make the information available to others interested in this topic and the other goal is to inspire you to journal for yourself. This page is meant to help you with those two objectives.

You can use this information and do your own thing or you tune in to the series and follow along. A new episode in the series is released every Friday at 8pm as a premeire and I will be in the chat to answer questions.

Notebook and Supplies

1. Notebook: For this series I am using a B5 notebook with 180gsm paper (standard notebooks use 160gsm which is fine, I just opted for thicker paper because it was available).
2. Stickers: I'm using various stickers from RongRong.[3]
3. Pens and other Art Supples: I'll elaborate on that what I used for each section (see below)

As always, I have to add a disclaimer. I'm a "pretty" journaler, but I support minimalist journaling and messy journaling are as well. Feel free to journal in whatever style you enjoy and use as much or as little from what I share as you see fit.

Women of the Bible A-Z

I'm creating a page to contain all the info for each letter. On each page you will find the following:

• A list of women (in alphabetical order) who's name (or moniker) begins with that letter along with reference verses for each woman
• Links to videos about the creation of those pages (and a guide for which women are discussed in which video)
• A supply list for the section detailing which pens and sticker set I used
• Links to the fonts I'm using or inspired by (if available)

I will also create pages dedicated to each topic. These pages will contain the following:

• A list of references used/found while studying (if applicable)
• Links to the video on the topic

References & Footnotes

1. Technically a lot of content was studied and placed in other journals prior to this journal's inception, but I'm stickign with Fall 2025 since that is when this specific journal was created and all content previously created is being re-evaluated and re-created for this journal.
2. I found multiple lists that claim to be a comprehensive list of women in the Bible but they weren't all the same. There are quite a few challenges when trying to list all the women of the bible:
   • Some lists only included named women, while others included both named and unnamed. Within this challenge is a sub-challenge concerning how specific do we want to be when saying named women. For instance, The Samaritan Woman is unnamed (and has an entire passage in which she is a primary character, while in contrast there are passages that reference the wives of a group of men in passing. Some lists include both, some only include the former.
   • What we recognize as inspired scripture also chnages the list; denominations that recognize the apochrypha as scripture will have more women in their list. Similarly, I found many lists by LDS Christians and they add women from their book, The Book of Mormon. This gives them more women to study as well.
   • Finally, you have the challenge of interpretation. There are 5 Abihails in the Bible: two are clearly female, two are clearly male, but no gender is assoicated with the person.
3. I had some problems with my order to get these stickers and was not the biggest fan of how the issue was handled so I opted not to purchase any more stickers from them. Nonetheless I want to give credit where credit is due and at the end of the day, I love that the company is minority owned and creates diverse stickers, so if you want the same stickers that is where I got them from.
