Closed my eyes,
Heard a voice calling me
Waded through water,
Followed the sound--
Who is this?
Unfamiliar,
Out of my element...
Deeper and deeper,
The curiosity is inside me.
As the water closes in
Bright beautiful blue
Under the tide,
Until my toes brush sand.
Felt the air in my lungs again,
Heard my own voice--
Answered the call,
Opened my eyes.
