Peace Be Still
Beneath ships passing by, waves break--
They roll like ripples in the night
Gleam off the water in moonlight
The soft glowing of light in each drop left to spill
Earth's gift of beauty waiting in wings--peace--be still.
Moving winds calmly brush the shore
I'm part of it, fused with the core--
Waiting silently at the feet
Of these waters warm, blue, and deep;
Fold into the countryside as it flows and bends
Let my soul move, 'cross the water as moving winds.
